Minnie V at Seven Foot Knoll, hand colored original lithograph, 24" x 17"

Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse was built in 1855 and is the oldest screw-pile lighthouse in Maryland. Until it was 1988, it stood on a shallow shoal at the mouth of the Patapsco River, just outside of Baltimore. In 1988, the lighthouse was removed from Seven Foot Knoll, carried by barge, and placed ashore in Baltimore's Inner Harbor where it was donated to the city.

The Chesapeake Bay skipjack Minnie V was built in 1906 at Wenona on Deal Island, Maryland She is a 45.3' long two-sail bateau,  (a type of V-bottomed dead-rise centerboard sloop). She is one of about 35 surviving traditional Chesapeake Bay skipjacks and a member of the last commercial sailing fleet in the United States. During the 1980s, the Minnie V could seen during summer months moored at the Baltimore Inner Harbor where she took passengers for day cruises. Today, she is located at Tilghman Island, Maryland.
